Astronomy Extravaganza
Apollo 50 Years

Astronomy Extravaganza

Date: Saturday July 20 | 1:00pm – 7:00pm
We're throwing an astronomy block party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing! Our Lyman Spitzer Jr. Planetarium will feature special shows throughout the day that highlight the extraordinary accomplishments of the astronauts, engineers, and dreamers who worked together to take the first steps on the moon. We'll have telescope instruction, astronomy-themed crafts, and STEM activities for every age. Local food trucks are invited to serve their specialties. And you'll be able to end the evening with a public viewing of the 1969 broadcast of the lunar landing ... inspiring the next generation of space exploration!
